All Freeview recorders will wake periodically while they are in standby if it has any recordings scheduled to take place. This happens so the recorder can check that the EPG data is still valid and if need be make adjustment if necessary and then it will go back into standby.
Around 15 minutes before a recording is due to take place the recorder will wake so that it is ready to record and also make adjustments if there has been a change to the recording schedule.
